Commercial Assessment Instruments

Hostile Interpretations Questionnaire (HIQ):  The HIQ is a self-report instrument designed to measure hostility.  It consists of 28 items that measure overall level of hostility, the social situations hostility occurs, and the characteristics of an individual’s hostility.

Commercial Treatment Program 

Criminal Attitude Program (CAP):  The CAP is a comprehensive cognitive-behavioral program that focuses specifically on the attitudes/values/beliefs and rationalizations conducive to criminal behavior.  The program consists of 15 modules for a total of 44 hours of intervention. 

Assessment Instruments Under Development/Validation

Criminal Expectancy Questionnaire (CEQ):  The CEQ is a 28 item self-report questionnaire that assesses criminal expectations.

Domestic Violence Supplemental Assessment Factors (DVSAF):  The DVSAF is a checklist style instrument consisting of 7 items that reflect factors that have  emerged in the domestic violence literature as being linked to domestic misbehavior.

Offender Screening Tool (OST):  The OST is a 44 item assessment instrument designed to measure developmental and social factors linked to criminal behavior. 

Pride in Delinquency (PID):  The PID is a 10 item self-report instrument that measures an individual’s degree of comfort (pride vs. shame) for engaging in certain criminal behaviors. 

Phoenix Opinion Survey (POS):  The POS is a 46 item self-report questionnaire that assesses a non-conformity attitude/orientation.  

Self-Improvement Orientation Scheme (SOS; SOS-SR):  The SOS and SOS-SR are companion assessment instruments designed to measure an individual’s amenability toward enhancing his/her life or current functioning.  The SOS is interview based while the SOS-SR is an 83 item self-report questionnaire.
